Description

A bayou scene surrounded by fish net and cooking ingredients for gumbo. The bayou country of Louisiana is unlike any other place in the United States. If you should ever get to Louisiana you should really take a drive through the bayou areas like Lafayette, Galliano, Thibodaux and Morgan City. It is really a country unto itself. The people of these areas are more than likely related in one way or another through their family histories. It sees every one is a cousin to someone else. Mardi Gras in these areas is not done in parade fashion, but more in fais do dos and family get togethers. The food is spectacular and is made in the old country way. My friend, Debbie, has always told me that whenever she goes to her sister’s house in Larose, her sister always has something cooking on the back burner just waiting for company to show up. I guess that is the way we should all be - always welcoming in spirit and waiting for another day of celebration of life.
