Accents in Stitches moved to 4500 Shores Drive in 2013. We now have room for a vast supply of cross stitch products as well as for all of the beautiful models that inspire you to create works of art from the work of your needle. The Accents website was originally created to allow relocated New Orleanians a place to find cross stitch designs that speak to them of home.
We stock thousands of charts in the shop (including the 200+ related to NOLA) as well as fabrics from 40 count linens to 6 count Aidas in a vast array of colors (both solid and overdyed); over a thousand buttons from JABCo; the full line of Mill Hill beads, treasures & frames; and an ever-growing assortment of accessories such as needles, Q-snaps, scissors, etc. etc. etc. We have never added these items to the website because Accents is a mom and pop brick and mortar shop owned and operated by mom (Gayle), pop (Fred) and daughters (Angela & Janet) and we are much better with sewing and framing skills than technical computer knowledge. If we were to spend our time uploading all of the products that are in the shop we would never have time to do the things that bring you into the shop, such as stitch and finish the models, order the products, clean the bathroom! If you are looking for a product we welcome your phone calls.
About Accents: we are a brick and mortar counted cross stitch shop located in the metropolitan New Orleans area. We opened on July 5, 1984. We were located on Williams Blvd. in Kenner, LA until 2003 when we moved the shop to Severn Ave. in Metairie. In 2013 we moved to our current location in order to have enough space to accommodate local stitchers since we were the only counted cross stitch shop remaining in the metropolitan area.
You can “walk through” our shop by googling our address and clicking on the door to our shop when the photo of our building appears on the google map. You can also visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Accents-In-Stitches/455037217986630
